Oil and gas jobs dominate Scotland’s election battle
Uncertainty over the business environment for the UK North Sea remains a significant concern for independent energy companies.
The Herald reports that Viaro Energy has announced that it is acquiring a 60% working interest in two gas fields from Hartshead Resources. The firm plans to bring the fields back onstream to help meet high levels of demand as the UK Government tries to cut reliance on energy imports. The piece includes a comment from Viaro Energy CEO, Francesco Mazzagatti: “This deal further proves our commitment to growing our portfolio in the North Sea basin and to the energy security of the UK” and added that the company has more deals in the pipeline for this year.
